Description
TurboCells® Chemically Competent E. coli are a specially optimized strain of competent cells that allow for fast and high efficiency transformation.

Compared to other competent E. coli, which require 1-2 hours of bench time, the TurboCells® Competent E. coli protocol can save hours of labor (Figure 1). Additionally, performance is not sacrificed to speed. Transformation efficiencies of up to 5 x 10⁷ to 1 x 10⁸ cfu/µg of supercoiled DNA are commonly obtained, and efficiencies of > 1 x 10⁹ can be achieved if a traditional transformation procedure is used. The fast and easy protocol, powerful genotypes, and consistent performance make TurboCells® Competent E. coli a great choice for both routine cloning experiments and demanding high-throughput transformations.

Storage
The TurboCells® Chemically Competent E. coli are shipped frozen. For maximum stability and long-term use, store cells at -70ºC upon receipt. The TurboCells® Transformation Buffer should be stored at room temperature. All components are guaranteed stable for 6 months when stored properly.
